Message from the Conference Chairs

Message from the Chairs of the International Programme Committee

Welcome

It is our pleasure to invite you to the IFIP TC3 World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE) in August 2022 in Hiroshima, Japan. On behalf of the International Programme Committee and the Local Organising Committee, we warmly recommend you to join us at this conference.

The World Conference on Computers in Education, which is usually held every four years, is the main event of IFIP Technical Committee 3 (TC3) and a central place to share current interests in research and practice in learning and technology.

The special focus of the WCCE 2022 conference will be on “Towards a collaborative society through creative learning”. As the world is increasingly interconnected and complex, the need for more critical and creative thinkers as well as for people able to fruitfully collaborate with others is increasing. Creative strategies must be implemented in education so that citizens in general, and students at all levels in particular, are better prepared to create new and meaningful forms of ideas, take risks, be flexible and cooperative. The special focus of WCCE 2022 provides an overarching framework through which a range of more specific conference themes will be considered.

We are delighted that the conference will be hosted in Hiroshima and supported by the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ). Hiroshima has a great deal to offer and to remind us of, and is an ideal place in which to discuss the future, taking into consideration lessons from the past.

This conference will be of particular interest to teachers, researchers, PhD candidates, policy makers and ICT professionals interested in education, who can collaborate and discuss the impact of digital technologies on the whole educational environment.

We invite you to take an active role and be part of this dynamic international community, where sharing of your knowledge will contribute to the continual development of practices, policy and improvement of student learning outcomes.

We look forward to welcoming you in Hiroshima, Japan.

We sincerely hope you will join us, to make IFIP TC3 WCCE 2022 a memorable event!
